Microsoft 365 Accessibility

The Accessibility Reminder app is now generally available for Microsoft 365.

Over the last two years, accessibility in Microsoft 365 has become a focal point for many organizations. With over one billion people worldwide living with a disability, we want to ensure that everyone is included. I’ve been legally blind since the age of 19 when I was diagnosed with Stargardts Disease, an inherited retinal disease. I’m always looking for the best ways to collaborate with others and how to ask for help when I need it!

With this in mind, our Office Engineering team created a fantastic accessibility app called Accessibility Reminder, which is now generally available for Microsoft 365 users.

Accessibility Reminder raises awareness of the importance of having an accessible office.

Features
  • Insert reminder comments in Word and Excel (as well as PowerPoint slides) to raise awareness of accessibility issues and encourage the use of the accessibility checker.
  • Create custom comments to notify specific document authors, as well as to include personalised messages, organization-specific links, training, and other features.
  • View training materials to learn more about accessibility and how to resolve issues.
  • Spread the word about the Accessibility Reminder to encourage more use and accountability.
